**WIP** Raheem Hackathon

Selected to redesign the onboarding experience at

Raheem Hackathon, SF

Raheem is an independent service for reporting police conduct in the United States. It emerged as a response to a series of fatalities that occurred in communities of color.

For this iteration/hackathon we focused on improving the onboarding experience, both visually and interactively. Each of us sketched and proposed one redesign, and after reviewing all the proposals it was decided that we would move forward with the design that I had presented.

We consolidated approximately six steps/screens into three, and added a visually engaging, location-responsive screen and system status graphics. The new visual design/graphics echoed the style of the original facebook chatbot.

Main-screen with interactive map render & introduction

We decided to make the screen more interactive, adding visibility of system status by placing a loading throbber, and making it relevant to the user by enabling a GPS-based map render of their location (with their permission) when the user types in the link.
